The tech giant Google has announced a series of updates aimed at enriching the experience of Android users and their Pixel devices. Starting this week, Material 3 Expressive will be available on Pixel 6 devices and later, as well as on the Pixel Tablet. Google highlights that these features are designed to make each Pixel device feel more unique and personal.
Enhanced Audio Features in Pixel Buds Pro 2
In another development, Google will introduce Adaptive Audio for Pixel Buds Pro 2, scheduled for implementation later this month. This functionality will allow the headphones to adapt to environmental conditions, making it easier for users to stay alert while listening to music. Additionally, the new update will enable users to hold clear conversations using the Gemini assistant, even in noisy environments. One of the innovations allows users to accept or reject a call by nodding or moving their head.
Intuitive Navigation on Pixel Watch
Pixel Watch users will also benefit from a new navigation feature that allows them to start directions in Google Maps from their phone and automatically view the information on their smartwatch. This will facilitate navigation while walking or cycling, improving connectivity between devices.
AI-Based Writing Tools
Google has also incorporated new writing tools in the Gboard keyboard, allowing users to modify the tone of their messages to make them more formal, expressive, or concise. Moreover, users will be able to quickly correct spelling and grammatical errors, with the assurance that the correction and rewriting process takes place directly on the device, ensuring data privacy.
Improved Audio Sharing
Another interesting feature is the ability to pair two Bluetooth headphones with Audio LE to a single Android phone, allowing two people to listen simultaneously. The audio sharing function enables users to enjoy the same song or movie at the same time, a feature that can be particularly useful in crowded places like cafes or during train commutes. Additionally, users will be able to create a QR code to share audio with a group via a private stream, allowing multiple listeners to enjoy the same playlist simultaneously, ideal for events like silent discos.
Enhancements to Content Sharing on Android
Google has also improved the Quick Share function on Android, making it more efficient for sharing and receiving content. It is now easier to switch between sending and receiving files, as well as previewing photos before sharing them and immediately opening received files. A new progress indicator will also provide real-time updates on the percentage of the file transferred.
Androidify: Create Your Own Bot
Finally, Google launched Androidify, a tool that allows users to create their own Android bot by uploading a selfie or drafting a notice. Androidify uses Gemini 2.5 Flash technology to title the image and the Imagen model to generate a custom bot. In certain cases, Veo 3, Google's latest video generation model, will be incorporated to animate the created bot.
